great tv March 20, 2009 Stacey E. Leuch (Denver) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We love this TV. My husband researched TVs for months before this purchase. We are both happy with our purchase!
Plus, the company (or their delivery company) brings it in your house, sets it up for you, and makes sure it works before leaving. Great service!!!
Best TV pound for pound out there January 26, 2009 Howard Citron (Chicagoland) The last thing this TV needed was another 5 star review, but I just had to give my 2 cents. This is my first big screen television and after doing plenty of research there was no question that this was the set for me. I bought in September, hoping that I'd be watching the Cubs in the World Series on it. Oh well, that didn't go as planned, but I then had it for football season. Just amazing picture. I have a home theatre, so audio was never used. I have a PS3 and it looks spectacular.
I will say that you should never buy Monster Cables for HDMI. Go to amazon and look at HDMI cables. I bought the SUPER cheap ones for 2 bucks plus shipping. They are good overall. Serviceable. I know that a lot of people believe that a digital signal is a digital signal and I'm not an engineer so I can't argue. I was having issues with my PS3 HDMI with red lines and I'd have to shake the cable a bit, but hey, I spent [...] bucks on cables. I decided to buy a couple MEDIABRIDGE 1.3 cables for 10 plus shipping. The picture is just as good, but the cable is much MUCH sturdier than the super cheap one. When you hold the 2 in your hands there is a noticeable difference in weight and how much more solid the mediabridge is. I highly recommend it.
As for the TV, BUY IT, BUY IT BUY IT!!! I got mine for $[...] plus 4 years extended warranty at Best Buy. Best value out there.
Ordering televisions from Amazon.com January 7, 2009 Josephine L. Ellinger (Los Alamitos, California United States) I ordered a 50in. Samsung DLP HDTV 1080p and was very surprised how well packed it came to my home. I was skeptical in ordering this product for fear something could go wrong with the shipping. I already belonged to a satellite service company, and all I had to do was call them and they came out and changed over the box and dish and set everything up HD for me. Would recommend anyone interested in ordering to do so.
Plasma / LCD Equivalent December 27, 2008 Scott G. Ehrenberg (Florida) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have had the HL50A650 for one month. The picture quality is as good as any plasma or lcd hdtv that I have seen. There is no trace of bluring or loss of resolution in high movement movies such as Transformers.
The Amazon price for this hdtv was competitive and much, much less than the other technologies.
The picture needed very little adjustment during setup which was extremely easy. The only aspect which required some thought was getting the picture format correct for my cable as I do not subscribe to the high definition channels and must up sync sdtv.
As with all DLP there is a foreshortened viewing angle so the TV horizontal centerline should be mounted at eye level.
I am going to purchase the 3D accessory so that when the hdtv 3d format is instituted I can view them on this set.
Warehouse deals? Dlps? Buying online? Oh yeah!! November 20, 2008 J. Atupem (MA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First, I would like to say that I love this TV. It has everything that I expected and then some. I was concerned that the Dlp would not look as good as a LCD or Plasma...boy was I wrong! This TV looks great. HD channels look amazing, Bluray movies look outstanding and my PS3 looks surperb (this tv is made for gaming). The Dlp comes with all the hookups one could possibly need (including 3 HDMI inputs).
